How to Win
Read on for all the information you will need to learn the game and how to get ahead!
Contents:
- No payment is required to enter the game.
- Each player starts with Rs. 1,00,000 Rupee Points as capital money to start trading on stocks.
- The game is limited to
BSE stocks only, as listed on the MoneyWiz web site. The current price (or,
last traded price when markets are closed) as displayed on the MoneyWiz site
will apply. Mutual Funds, and stocks from other exchanges cannot be traded.
- Players can buy or sell
stocks any number of times, at any time of day or night. You may trade whether
markets are open or closed.
- Players may compete as
individuals, or, create (or join) Teams in order to increase their chances of
winning.
- Players may join as
many Teams as they wish. The Team Leader can choose to approve or deny your
request to join his/her Team. Players may also invite others to join their
Team.
- A Team may contain any number of players.
- The game will run for a
period of 30 days. A Winner will then be declared and a new game will begin
once again for a period of 30 days, and so forth.
- The Winner will be decided on the basis of the highest final total value. The final total value is determined as follows: (Value of Stocks held + Cash Available) - Initial Seed Capital. The Winner may be an individual or a Team - the decision is based purely on the highest final total value among all parties.

- Create your portfolio
by giving it a name.
You can have only one
portfolio. If you join a Team then you may create an additional portfolio for
every Team you are a member of.
- Search for a stock that
you wish to buy.

Winning Tips
- Rely on Rediff MoneyWiz for research that can help you win. Broker Tips, Technicals, Performers data,
and other information can help you pick those winning stocks.
- You can increase your chances of winning by joining a Team. More the members of a Team, more the seed
capital for trading.
- Do you want to add star
performers to your Team? You can invite other, successful members to join your
Team.
- The more you trade, the better your chances of winning in case of a tie. A tie may be resolved by the
number of transactions carried out by the winning players.
- Keep an eye on other players. Study what they are doing and apply their strategy to get ahead.

A: No, you may sign up for free. Entry is open to all.
Q: Can I use my Rupee Points to buy real stocks?
A: Rupee Points may be used within the game only. They have no real-world value and cannot be used as money.
Q: How do I join a Team?
A: You may send a request to a Team to
join it. The Team Leader can choose to accept or deny your application.
You may also receive an invitation to join a Team.
Q: How many Teams can I join?
A: You can join as many Teams as you wish.
Q: How many members can join a Team?
A: There is no limit to the number of people who can join a Team.
Q: Where does the data used in the game come from?
A: The game is based on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) data as listed on the Rediff MoneyWiz web site. No other
stocks may be traded. Mutual funds are not available for trading in this game.
Q: How many transactions can I carry out?
A: You may buy or sell as many times as you want. Frequent transactions are encouraged as they increase your
chances of winning in case of a tie.
Q: What are the timings for trading? What price will be applicable when trading is closed?
A: You can trade at any time of day or
night. During trading hours, the current price as reflected on the Rediff
MoneyWiz web site will be applicable. During non-trading hours, the day's
closing price for the stock will apply.
Q: How is the Winner decided?
A: Whoever has the highest total value
at the end of the game cycle - whether an individual or a Team - will be
declared the winner. The highest total value is determined by the
following formula:
(Stock Value) + (Available Cash) - (Starting Capital of 1,00,000).
Q: In case of a tie what will be done?
A: The tie will be decided as follows:
- The Team with the highest number of members will be declared the winner
- If the tie is still not settled or is between individuals, then the individual or Team with the highest number
of transactions will be declared the winner
- If the tie is still not settled, then the
individual or Team that registered the earliest wins. In the case of a
Team, the registration date of the Team Leader will apply.
